Information nights

Once some degree of interest has been established, a tour leader/office staff from Tailor Made Vietnam will come to your school (if requested) to talk to teachers, parents and students about the trip and what to expect. If the trip is based on a certain subject or theme – i.e. social justice, geography, history, cultural studies etc. One of our staff will discuss these aspects of the trip as well as answering any questions regarding travel, food, activities, cultural concerns, security, health, etc. There should ideally be 2 meetings before your trip, the first one when initial interest is established to inform interested parties of the trip and the experience, and the second about 2 months before departure to inform students and parents about the final itinerary and give advice on vaccinations, what to bring, expectations and spending money etc.

Our Tailor Made Vietnam staff will be available throughout the entire planning stage of your trip to assist you with all enquiries and issues. Our staff will also arrange the booking, pick-up and distribution to your school/college of all flight tickets and visas.

A word on Medical treatment

Contrary to popular belief, Medical treatment throughout southeast Asia, particularly in Thailand, Vietnam & Cambodia, is of a very high standard with clinics set up that provide an extremely high level of emergency medical care similar to that found in Australia, Singapore or Hong Kong. These clinics and hospitals are staffed by foreign or overseas trained local medical staff and are located in major cities and towns throughout the country (See International SOS website) Pharmacies in these countries are plentiful and are usually very well stocked with western medicines. In areas travelled to far from major cities and towns, all our leaders will have first hand knowledge or where the closest suitable medical care can be sought as well as evacuation plans. First aid training has been provided to all Tailor Made Vietnam staff whilst the tour leader travelling with the group is contactable 24 hours a day by phone. (Please see main trip itinerary for details). It is a requirement that all passengers travelling with Tailor Made Vietnam obtain overseas medical insurance before they travel.

Please remember, travel health depends on your pre-departure preparations and general level of health. While the potential dangers can seem quite daunting, in reality few travellers experience anything more than upset stomachs.
